Sharece Phillips: the Don of Jewellery
Sharece Phillips is an artist, jewellery designer, poet, Aquarian and creator of SHA - RECE designs and WE ARE THE OTHERS Podcast. Devoted to mysticism and exploration, their works are artifacts from civilizations of their own creation.
Phillips investigates the tension between vision, reality, and conflicting influences. They also believe true beauty lies within the space of connection and entanglement- our relationship with the unfinished, disregarded, inevitable, and wild contradictions of living; trying to find order that does not subscribe to the rules of logic.
Elements that inspire Phillips’ work are celestial bodies, landscapes, architecture, and spaces -both physical and simulated, and as they relate to the realities and fantasies of ourselves and the elements around us. How do we live in these spaces of opposition and modification, and how do they form identities? How do we define structure within our own systems, and find language to communicate this never-ending progression?
